I just went for a creative writing competition. At least that's what the name of the competition was... I'm all psyched up. Aight,... here's something I can do... Here's a competition I can enter and actually enjoy myself... It's an inter-batch competition right, meaning it's only students from MY college. All of which are medical students. I walk in, and there's only a few of us there. I can hear them chatting to each other, saying that they're looking forward to this. It'll be fun working our very rusty creative skills again... There ain't much room for experimentation in the day of a med student. The teacher walks in, and we wait expectantly as he scrawls onto the blackboard the title we're to write on.

This is what I got worked up for? This is the "Creative" topic I'm bloody supposed to be working on??? Wth? Wtf? What was the word creative in the name of the competition for? I wrote a couple pages of bull and came out of the room pissed.

Look.

I know perfectly well I'm too dreamy for my own damn good.

I know perfectly well that as a person in the medical line, I'm supposed to be sober, and serious, and hardworking.

I'm not.

Deal

We're churning out a generation of robots. A generation that is taught to equate growing up with throwing away everything that is associated with childhood. That includes those little things like imagination, frankness, common sense and spontaniety.

I've been told so many times to pack away my storybooks, stop watching anime, burn those comics and quit my writing. And I've said no every time.

I like being me. I like sending my mind to other worlds where my problems don't exist and I can make everything happen the way I want it to. I like entering a world of anothers creation and marvelling at what they've managed to come up with.

And I won't stop for anyone.
